Luis López-Chávez’s is particularly interested in the plastic form. He works in many different mediums including painting, installation (object or sculptural) and video art. These medium change their nature in the work process, according to the references with which the creation has been generated. His works often include familiar objects or images, like repeating photographic images of sets of eyes, repeating tile-like patterns, or ceramics. Luis López-Chávez is on a determined pursuit to investigate human processes and the interconnection of these with different iterations of the community – this can be seen more concretely in his work on urban graffiti, which in turn present ways in which to possibly read contemporary Cuban society.
