Through careful bibliographic research (facilitated by the generous assistance of Galleria Continua in San Gimignano), the perusal of sources and direct study of a large number of works, Maglione managed very effectively to bring the Milanese artist’s work into focus. Her overview, at once chronological and typological, does not rigidly crystallize but, on the contrary, renders lively and fluid, on both an historical and critical plane, the reading of Cecchini’s development as an artist. Maglione discussed her thesis, which rounded off her course of studies in Cultural Heritage Sciences, in 2014, and it is now being published almost in its entirety (only the catalogue entries at the end of the thesis, and an introduction about the art scene in the early 90s, have been removed).
