The CIRCA programme inaugurates with a new commission by celebrated artist Ai Weiwei on the iconic Piccadilly Circus screen.
"The project begins from the year I was born through to the current, unceasing pandemic threaten- ing the human condition globally. All visual material is produced by my studio. There will be a selection of quotes taken from my own writing, as well as from other writers and poets. We will provide a visual feast with a strong message for the public."

The inauguration of the exhibition will be preceded by a conversation with Uli Sigg, Ai Weiwei and Marcella Beccaria in the theatre of the castle. Moderated by Carolyn Christov-Bakargiev.
This exhibition is developed in close contact with the collector Uli Sigg (Lucerna, 1946) and documents some of the prestigious collection’s distinctive characters through a choice of thematic and monographic rooms. Sun Yuan & Peng Yu will present the work One or All (Ash column) 2007 from the M+ Sigg Collection, donation by Uli Sigg, former Swiss ambassador in China and collector, to the M+ Museum in Hong Kong.

Organized by the Smart Museum of Art in Hyde Park with Wrightwood 659 in Lincoln park, this exhibition presents 45 works made from a range of unique and humble materials. The works are complementary in form, material and visual effect that inspire us to ask questions about relationship to the material world as well as examining the correlation between Chinese art and global contemporary art trends.

El Espacio 23
2270 NW 23 Street, Miami, USA
El Espacio 23 is located in a former 28,000 square foot warehouse in the Allapattah neighborhood. Opened by Jorge M. Perez, it will not only provide space for contemporary artists to exhibit but also for the development of current working artists with three apartments designed as residencies for artists and curators. The inaugural exhibition, ‘Time for Change: Art and Social Unrest in the Jorge M. Pérez Collection’, focuses on the notion of art and the artist as an agent for social change that can explore the conflicts and contradictions of contemporary society. An interest in the marginalized aspects of society and history ties together the nearly 100 works by over 80 artists including Michelangelo Pistoletto, Jonathas De Andrade, Carlos Garaicoa and Ai Weiwei.

Public Art Found, New York
Ai Weiwei conceived this multi-site, multi-media exhibition for public spaces, monuments, buildings, transportation sites, and advertising platforms throughout New York City. Collectively, these elements comprise a passionate response to the global migration crisis and a reflection on the profound social and political impulse to divide people from each other.
This exhibition is curated by Public Art Fund Director & Chief Curator Nicholas Baume with the assistance of Associate Curator Daniel S. Palmer.

Find out more: VIDEO CNN NY TIMES THE GUARDIAN
Ai Weiwei MASK artworks can be purchased as single works; as series of four; or as a complete set of twenty which includes the artist’s iconic Study of Perspective series. Made in the artist’s studio in Berlin, each work is silk-screened by hand on cloth face masks. In addition, each package includes a signed artist’s statement. The artworks are not recommended for medical use and no liability is assumed if they are used for this purpose. The masks are not washable.
All proceeds benefit the COVID-19 humanitarian and human rights emergency efforts led by Human Rights Watch, Refugees International and Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF). The masks are available until June 27 on www.ebay.com/aiweiweimask.
Ai Weiwei MASK is produced by Ai Weiwei studio and curated as an independent project by Alexandra Munroe, Senior Curator, Asian Art and Senior Advisor, Global Arts, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum.
